Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang, Malaysia. It is a small town on the east coast facing the South China Sea and home to the Kuantan Port. Seafood is big in Kuantan and tourists often try the famous fish crackers and salted fish.

Tourism

Kuantan is famed for its endless, pristine beaches. Popular beach destinations are at Teluk Cempedak, Cherating and Beserah. One of the highlights of these beaches are the turle sanctuaries. Kuantan is also famous for its waterfalls. There are four main parks; the Gelora Park, Teruntum Mini Zoo, Gambang Safari Park and Agriculture Park. Bukit Gambang Resort City is one of the largest water theme park resorts in Malaysia.
